IMPORTANT UPDATE!

OAPT is committed to facilitating quality education by sharing valuable knowledge and providing essential support to those responsible for safe pupil transportation. In line with this mission, we are excited to announce a revision of the School Bus Operator Course, which now features expanded content. While these enhancements do extend the overall duration of the course, they ensure that our training aligns more closely with federal requirements and now brings the State of Oklahoma into compliance with ELDT requirements. When you next purchase or access the online training, you can expect a comprehensive 29-hour course that includes:

Online Training
The Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation is proud to offer access to the essential education and training materials a driver may need through Smart Horizons! This program, at an annual subscription cost of $50 per user, is available fully online and has proven to be one of the best benefits of becoming an OAPT member. This program allows drivers and maintenance workers the ability to receive up-to-date, pertinent training without loss of time or the additional costs of travel!
Safety renewal education
OAPT offers online and face-to-face in-services to bus drivers across the state. These in-services are developed to ensure that drivers receive the necessary continuing education credits required by law to maintain their school bus drivers certification for SDE.
Certification
In addition to the Renewal Educational Requirements, OAPT continues to raise the bar. We further assist transportation specialists by standardizing bus driving education programs offering statewide certification to all bus driver trainers.
