Welcome to OAPT

Bright Yellow School Busses are as much a part of American’s icon for public education as backpacks, chalkboards, and bright red brick buildings with shining golden bells. Many parents have come to rely on the school bus as their child’s primary source of transportation to and from school. It is not uncommon for a parent to feel apprehensive when placing their child’s safety in the hands of a driver.

In an effort to standardize school bus driver education training and licensing. The Oklahoma Association of Pupil Transportation (OAPT), an alliance of school bus directors, mechanics, and drivers, have joined forces in a dedicated effort to promoting bus safety and transit to students across our state.

It is OAPT’s sincere hope that through standardized drivers' education courses and practice that Oklahoma pupil transportation providers will gain the desired confidence, recognition and respect from their students, school administrators, and communities.

CANCELLATION:

August Board Meeting

Due to the tasks and responsibilities of re-initializing services for the 2008-2009 school year, the OAPT Board Meeting scheduled on August 20, 2008 in Guthrie, Oklahoma has been cancelled. The next meeting will take place at SDE in (McLerran's Office) on September 17 at 10:00am. We look forward to see there.

Special Note: Any questions or concerns with regard to the meeting cancellation should be directed to School Membership.
