Meet the President of OAPT!

The President of OAPT serves as the presiding officer over all meetings and assemblies and ensures that the Board of Directors is abiding by all laws, regulations, and bylaws agreed upon by the body of OAPT. The President also ensures that all Board Members are performing their duties as assigned and is responsible for planning and organization are properly conducted for annual meetings.

Who I am
Donnie Ryan is the Transportation Director at Mustang Schools. He got his CDL to drive field trips for a private school in NW Oklahoma City in the mid-1990s. He began driving as a route driver for Putnam City Schools in Sept 2001. During his time as a driver, he competed in the yearly school bus Road-E-O and consistently placed in the top 3, winning first place on more than one occasion. In addition to his love of buses, Donnie had the desire to do more and would help wherever there was a need. His ambition paid off in 2010 when he was promoted to Supervisor over Student Discipline. This time was used to develop relationships with transportation peers and increase his knowledge of student transportation. In August 2018, Donnie was hired as the Assistant Director of Transportation at Mustang Public Schools. After serving as Interim Transportation Director in early 2021, He was hired to permanently fill the position in July 2021. When not working, Donnie loves spending time with his wife and daughter. They enjoy spending time together with friends, going on road trips, and spending quality time around the fire pit.

OVer 20 years of service in public school transportation!

Donnie Ryan started his career in the mid-1990s when he got his CDL to drive field trips for a private school in northwest Oklahoma City. In September 2001, Donnie began a new journey as a route driver for Putnam City Public Schools. He served in this capacity until 2010, when he was promoted to Supervisor over Student Discipline. Donnie worked in this position until August of 2018. Donnie accpeted a position as the Assistant Director of Transportation, and was eventualy promoted to Director of Transportation in July of 2021 after serving as the Interim Director for nearly a year.
