Who I am
James Page is the Director of Transportation at Putnam City Schools. He started driving in 2005 as a substitute driver for Frontier Public Schools in north central Oklahoma and later moved up to a regular route.
Later, he moved to Pioneer Technology Center to do school bus maintenance and became a Certified School Bus Instructor. He taught school bus driver classes at Pioneer Technology Center for five years before moving as the Director of Transportation for Unified School District 312 in Haven, Kansas.
While in Kansas, James became a certified school bus inspector and defensive driving instructor. He also worked with multiple surrounding communities to coordinate regular and special needs transportation for a 289-square-mile area.
In 2018 he became the Assistant Director of Transportation for Putnam City Schools. While gaining knowledge of the workings of a large school transportation department, he also started working to become a third-party CDL examiner with the Department of Public safety. In July 2021, James took over as the Director of Transportation for Putnam City School District. While he has been an active member of OAPT for ten years.
